The world as we know today in terms advanced scientific discoveries and inventions, is clearly a gift to us, by the greatest visionaries that ever lived. Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton, to name a few, have been the people who shaped the science world as it is today. As we stepped into the 21st century, we studied of those legends and taught the new generation about them. What mistake some people made was, that while learning and teaching about the earlier visionaries, they overlooked the one similar man in the current times. Not to completely blame them, the world media was busy glorifying businessmen like Zuckerberg and Jobs, that they hardly told the world about the person who was trying to make it better. The man is none other than Mr. Elon Musk. While some only know him as the CEO of Tesla Motors, here are a few reasons that the world needs to know who he is.
X.com and PayPal
While online payment method was only a maybe-possible-dream, in 1999, Elon Musk was the man who made it a reality. In March 1999, Musk co-founded X.com, an online financial service and e-mail payment company, with US$10 million from the sale of Zip2.
2. The Tesla Motors
This is where we realised how great a visionary Musk truly is. While the whole world was continuing to use fueled cars and ONLY ranting about the increasing smoke levels and pollution, Musk built a solution: electric cars. Tesla exceeded Ford and General Motors despite only 1% of their sales, till the end of June 2017. It is now considered as the most valuable car company, with its current worth of US $53.5 billion.
3. Making World a better place. For You.
A selfless man, that Musk is, who only wants to see the better of world, allowed for Tesla Motors to sell electric powertrain systems to Mercedes and Toyota so they too could give the world pollution-free automobiles.
4. Finding The SpaceX
Musk founded Space Exploring Technologies, or SpaceX, in 2002. His main aim through this company, is reducing space transportation costs and enabling the colonization of Mars. Yes. Colonizing Mars.
5.Establishing The Mars Colony Goals.
In a 2011 interview, Musk said he hopes to send humans to Mars’ surface within 10–20 years. He stated that he wants to establish a Mars colony by 2040, with a population of 80,000, and that, since Mars’ atmosphere lacks oxygen, all transportation would have to be electric.
