What was it? One sided love? Cheating partner? Things weren’t working out? A fight that ended everything? One of those things, I’m sure. And you might’ve been tired and utterly fed up of hearing stuff like, ‘it’s gonna be fine’, ‘it was a small thing, you’ll get over him/her’, when you clearly aren’t even near to feeling that level of positivity.
You’re looking at your photographs with him/her, with that excruciating pain in your chest, listening to music that’d break you even more and you’re not able to stop crying. Then you think of the moment where everything went wrong. That one moment that threw you off your ground, and now you’re thinking, “What could I have done to not let this happen? Why did that go that way?”
Well, let me tell you something. It happened. And it was not your fault. Okay? It was not your fault. You wanna heal yourself, you wanna get over that pain in your chest, you want to move on from this heart break, then the first thing you need to do is accept it. Accept that it happened, and that it was NOT YOUR FAULT. And if you’ve taken to much blame for that heartbreak, then forgive yourself. Some things in life are just meant to be that way. You know why? Because a better thing awaits you ahead. Take it from someone who’s been through the same.
You may now be losing your sleep, your appetite. It’s okay. It’ll pass. Remember it’s just a bad phase, not a bad life. Don’t give up. After forgiving yourself and accepting everything, the next thing you need to do is start loving yourself. Your heart broke because all this time you loved someone else more than yourself.
Now you don’t have to. Now, love yourself. Go out. Travel. Meet new people, make new friends and you’ll realize, so much more awaits you in this world. Maybe after months, you’ll be laughing with the new friend/s, amazed at how it all got so happy, and for once you’ll be thanking the person for breaking your heart, because that’s what led you to these new people. To this new happiness.
It all gets better with time. Time does not heal, it makes you stronger and more resistant. Eventually, with passing time, you become so strong that the past doesn’t affect you anymore. I know it’s hard right now, but just live through this hard phase and you’ll have happier times ahead. Do not give up. Do not give in to your sadness or fear. It’s a wonderful life, love it. Live it.
